Career Fair!

Went to my first one today in my snazzy new suit! There were a total of three companies there hiring my major specifically, but lots of businesses were hiring “All Majors” (some of them weren’t really, though. I’d walk up and be like, ‘Are you hiring EMACs?’ and they’d be all ‘No….’).

The ones that were, though, seemed really interested in me! Specifically Red Hat (open source provider), Blue Water Media, and Epic (a medical records network company). So who knows? I could end up in Mass, MD or Madison this summer.

I also visited a data networking company called Palantir because my friend was checking them out and they were (I think) the only guys there from California. Specifically, Palo Alto. They had all kinds of swag - bottle openers, shot glasses, and T-shirts. I declined the drinking paraphernalia but the T-shirts read “You had me at hello world.” I’m wearing mine now.
